Did you know hammerheads can make use of the earth's magnetic field during their migrations? Large groups prefer to gather near sea mounts and pinnacles, although the precise reason is unclear. Once fully grown, scalloped hammerheads have no natural predators, but they are considered endangered. Over 95% of their population has declined over the past 30 years in certain parts of the Atlantic. The only threat to them is human. Due to the barbaric act of shark finning (where the shark is thrown back into the water after their fins are cut off) their numbers have been reduced drastically. We've taken an evolutionary marvel and reduced it to nothing more than bad soup. It's not too late to try to turn it around. Speak up against the cruel practice of shark finning. 🦈 。 。 。 。 。 。#dosomething #travel #freedive #shark #apnea #emptythetanks #subal #conservation #onebreath #neverstopexploring #ocean #freediving #yourshotphotographer #ecuador #explore #teamcanon #extinction #emptythetanks #hammerhead #galapagos #sanctuary #photooftheday #marine #marineconservation #photography #underwater #padi #nature #canonbringit #savesharks #dive
